SPECIAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITY
Sunday, September 14
We want to invite all Prime Time LIFE (Sunday School) Directors, Teachers, Outreach Leaders, Secretaries, and Care Group Leaders to attend this training opportunity.
We will have lunch in Fellowship Hall after the 11:00 service on Sunday, September 14, followed by the leadership training session in S-111. We feel fortunate to have Andy Teague from FBC Enid, OK to lead our conference. Andy has been my friend for years. In fact, he served as my assistant at Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving.
Andy will challenge us to “POWER UP” Your LIFE.
The Power of Prayer for lost friends and family
The Power of Community as we focus on outreach
Andy will also present the concept of the “Discover Triad.” The three faces of a dynamic LIFE group are scripture, stories, and shepherding.

New Beginning! New Department & Class!
We plan to start a new LIFE group (Sunday School) on October 5, at 11:00 AM in room S-109. We have a target group (ages 55-65). We also want you to know our new directors, Joe & Becky Pickle. They have expressed a desire to be more involved in the life and ministry of FBCD. Many of you that have not been involved in Bible Study on Sunday morning may find this a group of “empty nesters” a great fit for your spiritual life.

39ER'S MONTHLY MEETING
Adults 55 Plus will never grow too old to enjoy fellowship and a meal together the second Friday of each month. We have a variety of programs with Adults 55 Plus in mind. The folks gather as early as 11:30 a.m., but we ring the bell for lunch at 12 sharp. So bring a side dish or dessert and join in the fellowship.
Upcoming programs:
September 12 - Please join us for a very informative program by Social Worker, Laurie Stokesbell who will speak on “Domestic Violence” and how it relates to older adults. Domestic violence has many forms, including physical violence, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, intimidation, economic deprivation, and threats of violence. Although emotional, psychological and financial abuse are not criminal behaviors, they are forms of abuse. According to the Centers for Disease Control, domestic violence is a serious, preventable public health problem affecting more than 32 million Americans, or more than 10% of the U.S. population. Please come on Friday, September 12 and learn more about this serious problem facing older adults.
