2004 MISSION TRIP TO GERMANY

As you peruse the various pictures and talk to the members of the Mission Team, you will see that God worked in mighty ways during our nine day stay in Germany. Not knowing what to expect, twenty-seven adventurous individuals traveled to the city of Magdeburg to teach conversational English, basketball and baseball.

The group served at “Norbertus” the cities largest high school with a student population around one thousand. Over the course of the week, various team members spoke in approximately 20 different classes meeting with the students in small groups to help them with their English. At the same time, other team members taught basketball, baseball, and cheerleading in another 20 plus class periods. Even with twenty-seven team members we could not meet all the demands placed on the group. We could have taken another thirty people with us to help with conversational English. That is how popular the group became in just avery short amount of time!

It is amazing how cultural walls break down when you go with the spirit of Christ and show His love through smiles, laughter, and encouragement. Nine students accepted Jesus as their personal savior, one teacher made an affirmation of faith, and many more seeds were planted among the faculty and student body. Each member of the team wishes to thank the members of First Baptist for their support and prayers. As we look forward to returning in the summer of 2006, pray about your potential involvement in the lives of students and faculty, by bringing them the life changing message of Jesus Christ.
